ピーター・ズントー:建築物と建築プロジェクト 1986-2013年 全5巻

ピーター・ズントーは、言うまでもなく最も影響力のある偉大な現代建築家の一人です。すばらしく明快なビジョンと確固とした独自の哲学で仕事にあたり、その姿勢は同業者のみならず世界中から称賛を受けています。一度にあまり多くのプロジェクトを行わず、スタジオを大きくすることもなかったズントーの建築物は、その数こそ多くはありませんが、世界中で高い評価を獲得しています。聖ベネディクト教会(スイス)、テルメルバード・ヴァルス(スイス)、ブレゲンツ美術館(オーストリア)、聖コロンバ教会ケルン大司教区美術館(ドイツ)などは、特に有名です。本コレクションは、1986年から2013年にわたり、数々の賞に輝いたズントーの全作品を全5巻に収めたものです。その中には、ブラザークラウス野外礼拝堂(ドイツ)や魔女裁判の犠牲者のための記念館(ノルウェー)などの、批評家のあいだでは高い評価を得ながら、一般にはあまり知られていない作品も収録されています。

実際に建てられなかったものも含めて、ズントーの約40近い建築プロジェクトを紹介しており、彼自身による解説はもとより、写真、スケッチ、製図、平面図などを見ることができます。そして1979年からはじまるズントー作品の全リストが巻末に掲載されています。豊富な図版と美しいレイアウトの本書は、ズントー作品とその哲学の格好の入門書であり、同時に、プロの建築家の書棚にも必須のコレクションとなるでしょう。
