Abstract

The present study aimed to recognize the influence of personal finances on the job performance of UCMB and CMB employees in the year 2025. It was conducted under a quantitative approach, descriptive and cross-sectional in nature, during the period from February to April 2025. The sample consisted of 200 employees from CMB and 44 from UCMB, selected through non-probability purposive sampling. For data collection, a structured questionnaire was administered to the employees and the human resources managers of both institutions.The study sought to identify the relationship between the level of financial education of employees and their ability to manage their personal finances, to highlight the impact of indebtedness on work-related stress and productivity, to determine how the perception of financial well-being influences motivation and job commitment, and to propose organizational strategies aimed at minimizing the adverse effects of personal financial problems on performance.The results show that, although most employees manage to cover their basic needs, there remains a group with high levels of indebtedness, which affects their financial well-being and, in some cases, their concentration and work motivation. A generally high level of organizational commitment and a positive perception of institutional recognition were observed, although vulnerable segments with higher financial stress and lower motivational stability were identified. Furthermore, financial education and personal counseling were perceived as key factors for improving productivity and commitment.It is confirmed that personal finances significantly influence job performance, especially through the perception of financial well-being, indebtedness, and motivation. Therefore, the implementation of financial education programs, debt management support strategies, and institutional policies that promote greater economic stability for employees is recommended.
